Our Capital Campaign:
We envision a Central Valley where LGBTQ+ folks feel safe both within our walls and out in the world. We belong here, and it’s our responsibility to forge a legacy that transcends the dream of our founders. It’s time to grow. To evolve. It’s time to Build to Belong.
Phase 1: $1,000,000
Purchases our existing space, creating a permanent home for our community, with essential renovations that improve accessibility, safety, and security.
Phase 2: $2,000,000
Secures and builds out a fully functional, culturally competent healthcare facility—with primary care, HIV case management, and gender-affirming care—while expanding community spaces and adding essential workspaces.
Phase 3: $3,000,000
Creates an endowment to ensure stable funding for The Source, grow future programs, support grassroots LGBTQ+ efforts, and provide educational opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth.
We are currently in Phase 1.
We have raised an astounding $625,000 so far, which puts us at over halfway to our $1,000,000 goal.
Challenge:
LGBTQ+ people are under attack. Our communities continue to lack safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces free from stigma, rejection, and discrimination. The Source LGBT+ Center campus is vital to the safety and wellbeing of thousands in Tulare and Kings Counties..
Opportunity:
Build to Belong will secure The Source’s campus as a permanent home, ensuring stability and a lasting investment in LGBTQ+ lives. Owning this space will allow The Source to expand its impact, strengthen its future, and create a true sanctuary for the Central Valley’s LGBTQ+ community.
We need your support to make this dream a reality.

Dr. Peter Robertson and Victor Kral
Dr. Peter Robertson and Victor Kral completed their generous pledge to our Capital Campaign, Build to Belong, and named our Rainbow Flag Pole! Here are a few words from Peter and Victor:
Why do you support The Source?
"We support The Source because it offers far more than programs and services — it offers a physical and tangible sense of belonging. While it provides vital resources to Central California, its greatest impact is the affirming space it creates. For many, The Source is a home away from home — a place where people are seen, valued, and supported exactly as they are. In a region where this type of visibility and acceptance isn’t always guaranteed, The Source stands as a powerful reminder that everyone deserves acceptance, dignity, and respect."
Why did you contribute to the capital campaign?
"Contributing to the “Build to Belong” capital campaign was both a personal commitment and a collective one for us. It was a way to stand alongside a group of passionate LGBTQ2+ leaders, volunteers and allies who continuously inspire our community. Their dedication motivates us to give back, to uplift others, and to help ensure The Source is a lasting, visible presence for generations to come. This gift is not a donation, but an investment – in the sustainability, and the future of The Source."
What do you like about the flagpole naming opportunity?
"There are still very few places where our community can see open and proud reflections of themselves in public spaces — especially in Visalia. While a rainbow flag symbolizes pride, it also signals representation, safety, and visibility. And not just in the month of June. This flag and flagpole serve as a year-round beacon of love, reminding everyone who passes by – you are not alone and you are welcome at The Source.
"The flagpole naming opportunity is a meaningful and lasting way to support these themes, making it a perfect fit for us. Finally, we are intentionally leading by example – we hope there are others in our rainbow community who might be encouraged to do the same, and will also financially support The Source in any way they can."
