Every Thursday @ The Source, 6pm
Begins April 27, 2023

Christopher D'Aiuto (they/them) is excited to partner with The Source to launch The Poetry Collective. Christopher started and led Cape Town's Pride Poetry Night from 2017-2020 before moving to Visalia to work as an environmental scientist.

"Poetry for me is a way to express my own vulnerability one day, and to emote about the plight of climate change the next. It is a versatile way to deal with all the things that are hard to express in our day to day. It is a way to see what is right in front of us from a completely new perspective. I keep coming back to poetry because it helps me ground into my body, while giving an outlet for my creative energy."

The Poetry Collective is a weekly group for adults in the LGBTQ+ community who are interested in writing and creating, observing and listening. We are looking for folks on any part of the spectrum between new to writing to a seasoned poet. The Collective will read and share poems that its members are penning and enjoying. It will be a creative and open space to express the things that are both hidden and in plain sight. Won't you come say hello?

Reserve your spot through poetrycollectivevisalia@gmail.com.

First come-first serve as space allows.
